PANORAY UDS2-73

It was manufactured and developed for the identification of defects by conducting ultrasonic examination of track rails in a fast, accurate, and reliable fashion.

Rails and rail weldings that bear railway vehicle loads from wheels on a highest level may have defects resulting from manufacturing and operation. The most commonly used non-destructive testing method to prevent potential accidents by determining these defects is ultrasonic examination. Complying with the EN 16729 standard, Panoray UDS2-73 Ultrasonic Inspection Tool has been manufactured and developed for the identification of defects by conducting fast, accurate, and reliable ultrasonic examination of rail tracks. With a speed of 10 km/h, it performs ultrasonic examination of the rail head, the body, and the body projection at the base. For this purpose, six-day engineering studies were carried out on our current vehicle Panoray UDS2-73 with the aim of performing the measurements at higher cruising speeds and of obtaining higher quality images and more accurate diagnostics on the screen with the ULTRACON experts from Ukraine in December 2018. The result has been satisfactory. It was decided to continue R&D activities on a regular basis.
